Just got our last order today. Barred Rock pullets and Buff Orpington cockerels. They look great and healthy. Only about 5 more months before I get more eggs.

Our hatch fron 28 & 29 April are now in the growout pen. With temperatures the way the are now they are doing fine and now have much more room. We have another load from the hatchery coming Thursday or Friday so had to make more room anyways.

Our new chicken pen has been fenced in and the new residents are now occupying it. We still have to build more roosting poles and nesting boxes, but they are enjoying the larger area.

Our hatch was successful with a hatch o 212 chicks. Out of 276 eggs that was set, 30 were not fertile, another 28 did not make it to hatch, and 6 did not fully hatch. All 212 hatchlings are doing well in the brooder.

Our first bundle of eggs in the incubator. We are expecting the hatch to take place on or about 29 Apr 2025. Chicks will be available for sale shortly after as straight run only. These will be a barnyard mix. Hens will lay various egg colors.

Our growout pens have been completed. We turned one carport into two 18' x 10' pens. They are currently being occupied by our new layers and breeders. We have plans on setting up a second carport for another two pens. I am currently designing my breeder pens for the Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, Bielefelder and one other breed.

We have started expanding our flock of Rhode Island Reds. First group arrived with minimal issues even from traveling during the cold. Our second order all arrived deceased due to USPS taking 5 days to deliver them. New bundle has been shipped as replacement. I also ordered a specialty breed that I previously had. Can't wait to raise them and start hatching.

Expansion has began to include two laying pen and two grow-out pens. Brooder shed is coming along nicely. We have revamped an old shed to accomidate two 5-level brooders. We will also be moving three incubators into the brooder to help support future hatching.
